The Laboratory for characterization of micro- and nanostructures is in progress of accreditation according to ISO 17025.
The laboratory has a platform for micro- and nanostructure characterization. The equipments represent flexible and powerful tool for a wide range of particle analysis tasks including drug formulations, emulsions and paints formulations, CMP slurries, cell studies, drinking and waste water analysis and industrial fluid analysis.
The platform integrates optical assemblies with digital image acquisition, and patented image analysis algorithms to rapidly and accurately measure the physical properties of cell or particle populations: size, shape, count, and concentration. Powerful post-processing is available and results are displayed or exported in a variety of convenient formats.
Between the equipments:
- Mastersizer 2000 through innovative use of laser diffraction technology formulates the particle size analyzes. Particles from wet dispersions with a wide size range from 0.02 µm to 2000 µm are measured accurately and non-destructively.
- Zetasizer Nano ZS can measure a combination of three of the most important parameters for the colloid and polymer chemist: particle size (0.6 nm – 6 µm), zeta potential (on the range of 3 nm – 10 µm) and molecular weight (1000 – 2 x 107 Da).
- EL X-02spec Ellipsometer can measure the change of polarization of laser light after reflection at a surface, with highest precision and accuracy. The sensitivity of the apparatus is in a range that also a small number of molecules covering a surface can be evaluated (190 nm - 1700 nm).
